Frequent James Gunn collaborator, Michael Rooker, is in talks to join WB's The Suicide Squad
IT WAS JUST A MATTER OF TIME! Guardians of the Galaxy star, Michael Rooker, is in talks to star in James Gunn's The Suicide Squad as King Shark. King Shark is a humanoid supervillain in the DC pantheon of baddies. This is the first person attached to Gunn's SS that is a previous collaborator. Rooker has previously worked with Gunn on his feature film, Slither and also played Yondu in the Guardians of the Galaxy films. Gunn has long been a director that is loved by his cast and after the whole debacle at Disney (that's another topic), that was overtly shown. The entire cast signed a letter asking for Gunn's reinstatement as director for GOTG Vol.3 and Dave Bautista, who plays Drax the Destroyer, has gone far enough to publicly shame Disney for their decision. From this situation, Gunn got the job of helming a new version of The Suicide Squad for Warner Bros. Gunn has had great success with his friend and frequent collaborator so... all things are looking pretty spectacular on the Suicide Squad front. What do you guys think of this news? Great? Saw it coming? Let me know! Thanks for reading!
