Travis Knight to helm "The Six Billion Dollar Man" for Warner Bros.
Travis Knight, the director of "Kubo and the Two Strings" and most recently, "Bumblebee", has signed on to helm the long awaited....the very very long awaited "Six Billion Dollar Man" for Warner Bros. The film will star Mark Wahlberg in the titular character and has long been in development. It has been quite the journey for this film and landing Travis Knight is a HUGE win. "Kubo and the Two Strings" was critically loved and was a hit. His next project had a much more uphill battle. It's no secret that the Transformers franchise had been struggling for awhile so the idea of a "Bumblebee" spin off was met with a...lukewarm welcome when it was announced. Full disclosure, even I thought it was a stupid idea. However, Travis Knight did it again by delivering, arguably, the best film out of the entire franchise. It only makes sense that the studios would be clamoring over him to lock him into a deal. And Warner Bros beat them to the punch. Let's hope that he stays attached, because this project has had a rocky journey. Other than that, this news is pretty exciting! Leave a comment and let me know what you think! Excited for Travis Knight? Excited for Mark Wahlberg? Or maybe you're excited because you're a fan of the original show? Let me know. Thanks for reading!
